Many Jews from the town of Dowig, Lithuania,
came to the Boston, Massachusetts, area starting around 1880.
They formed a
Landsmanshaft
named Anshe Dowig (or Anshey Dowig), and many are buried in a cemetery
named Anshe Dowig on Centre Street in West Roxbury (part of Boston).
